Marine barracks is a colony structure in Master of Orion. It enables ground defense by training marines to protect the colony from landing invaders, but does not protect against orbital bombardment. The maximum number of marines on a planet is equal to either half the planet's maximum population or at least four, whichever is higher. The Mrrshan racial trait of extended barracks then increases this value by 4.
